Who we are: 

The children’s ministry at Pearl Haven Christian Center is a specialized ministry arm for children aged between 3 to 15 years that started in 1993 at the inception of Living Water Ministries Uganda. 

The beginning: 

The ministry began with the children from the then members and ministers of the church. From a very humble start on the narrow verandah of the Pastor’s rented house and assisted by volunteer teachers; children were taught rhymes and simple Bible stories and songs among others. However, owing to the very highly itinerant nature of the main church fellowship at the start due to basic house rent challenges, the children’s fellowship venues kept changing too. 

To all our amazement, in spite of all this rampant shifting, the number of children that attended church kept growing bigger and bigger to the extent that more fairly spacious meeting venues had to be sought for the children. And so from the verandah at the pastor’s house to the distant Namatala primary school classroom which even involved crossing 3 major and busy traffic roads with the risk that it posed to the children and later to Erisa primary school which was much safer and closer to the main church fellowship venue. We are forever grateful to the managements of both schools for opening their gates to us when we needed their assistance most then.

Sunday Children’s Services:

Every week alongside our two main worship gatherings we have a Children’s service. The first children’s service runs from 8:45am – 9:50am and the second 11:00am – 12:05pm every Sunday. These services feature a time of singing, teaching, small group activities and a time of prayer. We meet in 4 main groups based on class, grade level or age. These are: 3-5, 6-8, 9-11, 12-15
