Kings Primary School with its more than 450 kids is like an oasis in the rugged community of Bunambutye on the western slopes of Mt Elgon in eastern Uganda. The lush green during the rain seasons is only part of the story. When the rains stop the place becomes dry, dusty and the
earth is literally caked. Despite the end of cattle raids from the Karamajong warriors in the past and various interventions, poverty still eats deep into this society. The school provides the area with the much-needed education for these disadvantaged people. The village has embraced the school fairly well and we have to turn away more kids every beginning of the school year as our
Classes are already overpopulated.
Thank you, friends, for the support towards this work. It is an extension of Jesus’ love to this rough and sometimes hurting world. Asante Sana! (Kiswahili)
Special thanks to Diamond Valley Baptist Church, our most consistent partners for the last few years.
Our Primary 7 class of 2025 will be writing their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) in November and will graduate from the school to go on to Secondary School (High School). It is in our plans to construct a secondary school on the adjacent land the ministry purchased so these would not have to commute over 10 kilometers to the nearest Secondary school. Kings Primary School is run by Living Water Ministries Uganda – through a registered company
EZRA UGANDA.

One of our friends, Teri Leaman from Wales UK, visited
in this year and helped us purchase a 10,000-liter tank
to harvest rainwater from the roof to supplement the
borehole that is not giving enough water for the school
and some in the community. He also gave a donation
to purchase additional desks for the classrooms.

When the seasons change, and after the people in the village
already sold their crops at harvest time, and at harvest prices, scarcity of food becomes a sad reality. The lunches given to the kids at Kings is usually the surest meal for them. We credit the parents for sending to us portions of their harvest for each child. The school also farms the land available to supplement what comes from the village and what we purchase.

Kenny & Angela Sharpe from Pennsylvania came to speak at Pearl
Haven and visited the school. They met school’s pioneer students Joy & Edith who are teachers here. It was only joy as they went from class to class sharing the word of God and giving out candy to the kids. Kids love candy! New uniforms for 100 kids! They noticed some kids had worn out uniforms and donated money for 100 kids to get brand new uniforms. A visit could make a big difference!

Roof Needed for the Office block and staff room to free up the rooms to be used for teaching.
$6000 NEEDED FOR THIS

One of the girls’ toilets collapsed
The Girls Latrine (the improved hole-in-the-ground toilet) failed last school term.
IT REQUIRES $2000 TO
REPLACE.

Our biggest need is funds to pay wages for the teachers and other workers. Kings is a private Christian school employing Christian staff. We have 14 teachers and 6 non-teaching staff. It costs $152.00 to keep one teacher every month.

Added to the running costs, $2900 IS NEEDED EACH MONTH TO KEEP THE SCHOOL OPEN.
Would you prayerfully consider donating
(monthly/one-time) to keep a teacher in the
school so these kids can come to school.
We would love to hear from you, so feel free to reach out to us as soon as possible.
